Welcome back for the last installment of Spotlights before NCD Convention!  Looking forward to seeing everyone in Dearborn this weekend!

Kevin Earnest is the District Vice President of Special Projects from the Gamma Mu Chapter at Ohio Northern University.

Q. When were you initiated in Tau Beta Sigma?
A. February 2006

Q. What chapter offices have you held?
A. Recording Secretary

Q. What year in school are you/when do you plan on graduating?
A. I’m a 5th year senior and will graduate in May 2010.

Q. Favorite Service Project?
A. Girl Scout Music Badges

Q. Favorite TBS Fundraiser?
A. Making Letters to sell at Conventions (Find Gamma Mu at convention for your letters!)

Q. Favorite Sisterhood Event?
A. Christmas Sing-A-Thon

Q. What are your plans after undergrad?
A. Not sure yet, either grad school or the real world.

Q. Favorite place TBS has taken you so far?
A. National Convention, Phoenix, AZ

Q. Top 2 actors and actresses?
A. Hugh Laurie, Terry O’Quinn
I don’t really have a favorite actress.

Q. What music is your guilty pleasure?
A. MxPx (punk rock)

Brittany DeRyke is one of The Kadenza Moderators.  She is from the Alpha Delta Chapter at Ohio University.

Q. When were you initiated in Tau Beta Sigma?
A. March 2008

Q. What chapter offices have you held?
A. Corresponding Secretary, NCD Committee Head, Webmaster

Q. What year in school are you/when do you plan on graduating?
A. I’m a 3rd year; I’m planning on graduating next spring

Q. Favorite Service Project?
A. My favorite Service Project was our PM project. We cleaned the equipment room for the Marching Band.

Q. Favorite TBS Fundraiser?
A. My favorite TBS Fundraiser is our annual Jumpathon. It’s a blast!!

Q. Favorite Sisterhood Event?
A. My favorite sisterhood event is actually series of events. I love sisterhood week. I love all the food, movies, and sisterhood activities of the week.

Q. What are your plans after undergrad?
A. Grad school at Ohio U…hopefully.

Q. Favorite place TBS has taken you so far?
A. I would say my favorite place TBS has taken me so far is Convention in Indianapolis my freshmen year. Winning Counselor’s Cup for the first time. Witnessing that great honor first hand was a great feeling.

Q. Top 2 actors and actresses?
A. Actors- Gerard Butler and Orlando Bloom
Actresses- Kate Hudson and Rachel McAdams

Q. What music is your guilty pleasure?
A. My guilty pleasure with music changes from week to week. I love all types of music. But if I had to name an artist or artists that is my current guilty pleasure, I would say it’s Ingrid Michaelson, Mat Kearney, and Sara Bareilles.

Megan Schlegel is the other Moderator of The Kadenza.  She is from the Epsilon Iota Chapter at The University of Akron.

Q. When were you initiated in Tau Beta Sigma?
A. April 2006.

Q. What chapter offices have you held?
A. Historian (2007-2008), Service Committee Chair (2007-2008), and Sisterhood Committee Chair (2009-2010).

Q. What year in school are you/when do you plan on graduating?
A. I’m a 5th year senior graduating in May 2010.  Finally! =)

Q. Favorite Service Project?
A. I’ve enjoyed all the podium building projects.  Mostly girls + Power tools = Lots of fun… and a surprisingly sturdy podium!

Q. Favorite TBS Fundraiser?
A. I love our Chili Cook-off!  Lots of tasty chili for a reasonable price!

Q. Favorite Sisterhood Event?
A. Every semester, we have a potluck.  Everyone pitches in a few dollars to buy a turkey or ham and everyone brings a dish to share.  So many memories!

Q. What are your plans after undergrad?
A. I don’t have a clue.  It’s scary and exciting.

Q. Favorite place TBS has taken you so far?
A. 2009 National Convention in Phoenix, AZ.

Q. Top 2 actors and actresses?
A. Actors- Hugh Grant and Jason Bateman
Actresses- Sandra Bullock and Katherine Heigl

Q. What music is your guilty pleasure?
A. Most rap music….and Lady Gaga.

The final Spotlight is on the Theta Psi Chapter from The University of Louisville.

Q. When was your chapter initiated?
A. November 5, 2000

Q. How many active, conditional, and prospective members does your chapter have?
A. We have 16 actives, we just put a class of 3 PMs through the degree process.

Q. What is your chapter’s favorite service project?
A. Our favorite service project is goody bags for the band.

Q. What is your chapter’s favorite and/or most successful fundraiser?
Our favorite fundraiser is Chili Fest, where we get to make lots a chili and it normally makes us a pretty good profit.

Q. What is your chapter’s favorite sisterhood event?
Our favorite sisterhood event is watching America’s next top model together.

Q. What is your chapter’s favorite thing to do on campus together?
Our favorite activity is eating with each other on Campus

Q. Do you have any upcoming events on your calendar (i.e. degrees, concerts, etc.)?
A. [Theta Psi has no current events on their calendar; they submitted their Spotlight in February and upcoming events have since passed.]
