The goal
Jenny Hirt TBS NCD President
Your summer is over, you’re back at school, you’re settling in, and you’re ready to go. But what is your plan? What areas of your life do you want to see a difference in at the end of the year? Have you thought that far ahead?
The end of the year will be here before you know it and now is the time to begin making plans so that when it does come, you aren’t left thinking “I wish I had done this”, or “changed this” or “made this impact”.
This can be applied to all aspects of our lives; school, your future, your band, your chapter, and wherever else you see fit. How can you make a difference in these? Make goals now and begin the process of achievement. The goals can be both long and short term.
The challenge:
The reason I wrote this article is because I want to challenge all of you to think about your chapter and where you are as a group and where you are as an individual in your chapter. Then think about what you would like to see happen in the next year, and discuss as a whole; share your thoughts and ideas. Then together come up with a focus and make a plan with goals for the whole group. In bringing each and every individual into the planning for the year and encouraging everyone to work together towards one common goal, you will see growth over all and at the end of the year, PRIDE in what you have done.
But don’t forget to reflect on success, it is important to periodically look back; reflect on what you have done, reevaluate or adjust if necessary, and then continue on your plans.

The best way to predict the future is to create it.”
